| The Japanese Chin is a loyal, loving companion. It is a very intelligent dog, quick to learn and very eager to please their people. They are sensitive, and have a natural ability to read and adjust to your moods. In Japan, there are Inu (dogs) and there are Chin. Bred to be "catlike" they prefer napping on the back of your favorite chair, or basking in the sun by a window. They are very clean, require minimal grooming, and are not "yappy" dogs. Though they can be very silly and playful, always wanting to be the center of your attention, they are also elegant dogs, and are best suited for an environment without a lot of rough-housing. People who have this breed will never again live without one. Chins represent all that is ideal in a pet.
