It is our deepest wish, that you will purchase a

Japanese Chin, from a reputable breeder.

 

Puppy Mill puppies, end up in pet stores. Raised under the horrible conditions of a puppy mill, these dogs are not well socialized. They are raised in a cage with little human contact. They are often taken from their mother and litter mates before they weaned or even get their milk teeth. As early as 4 weeks !!! Don't believe for a minute that you will be "saving" that poor puppy. It only makes puppy millers breed MORE. In addition, you will most often not end up with a dog that displays the normal traits of a Japanese Chin. What you save in purchasing the puppy (if you do) you will spend at the vet's office, and working with a trainer trying to rehabilitate the dog who was not allowed to imprint with his family.

 

Back Yard Breeders, breed to make money. Like a puppy mill, they will breed a dog that has a bad temperament, known health problems, genetic defects, passing all down to the next generation. They only do it on a smaller scale. Just because a puppy is "home raised", does not mean you are getting a quality dog.

 

Responsible Breeders, take breeding very seriously. They realize they are bringing puppies into this world that would not otherwise have been born. They are responsible for the quality of their life from their birth to their death. Each puppy placement is done with the utmost care and research to provide very best possible home. They will be there to answer your questions for the lifetime of the dog. They will not allow a puppy to leave it's 'family', until he is at least 12 weeks old. They evaluate breedings, and try to improve the breed -- breeding out genetic defects, bad temperaments and health problems.

 

Please....make sure to buy your puppy from a responsible breeder. You will save yourself endless hours of frustration and heartaches.
