Pet Store VS Breeders
Please Purchase A Japanese Chin From A Reputable
Breeder!
The truth is, pet stores ONLY have puppy mill, or commercially bred puppies.
No reputable breeder would ever allow one of their puppies to reach a pet
store.  In fact reputable breeders go to great lengths to make sure of this.

Puppy mills, and most commercial breeders raise puppies in horrible
conditions.  These puppies are raised in a cage, have little if any human
contact, and are poorly socialized.  They are often taken from their mothers
and litter mates before they are weaned or even have their milk teeth!  As early
as 4 weeks old.  No toy breed should be separated from his family before he is
12 weeks old for proper socialization.

You have all seen examples of this on TV.  Female dogs who are bred before
they are mature, and are over-bred to the point of near death.   Who live in
cages their whole lives while producing, only to be killed when they can no
longer produce.

Don't believe for a minute that you will be "saving" that puppy in the pet store.
It only encourages commercial breeders to breed more.  In addition, you are
likely to end up with a puppy who never has the traits of a Japanese Chin.
What you save from purchasing at a pet store (if in fact you do) you will spend
on health issues at the vets office and working with a trainer to rehabilitate a
dog who was not allowed to imprint with his family.

Back Yard Breeders are not much better.  They breed only for financial gain,
with little or no regard to their dogs or puppies.  Much like puppy mills, they will
breed a dog with a bad temperament, health problems or known genetic
defects....passing bad traits down to another generation.  They may raise dogs
in their home, but are doing for money rather than trying to improve the breed.
A puppy that is 'home raised', does not guarantee you are getting a quality
puppy.

Responsible breeders take breeding seriously.  They realize they are bringing
puppies into this world, and are responsible for them from birth, to death.
Puppy placements are done with care, and they will stand behind their pups
and offer help and support throughout their lifetime.  They carefully evaluate
each breeding and work to improve the breed by breeding out bad traits,
health problems, genetic defects and bad temperaments.

Please....do you homework.  You are purchasing a
lifetime companion.  Make
sure to find a reputable breeder.

If we do not have pup available, or don't have a good match for your family, we
