Japanese Chin Traits
Chin are an very unique breed.
Here are a few traits of the Japanese Chin
2. Many Chin will let out a "Wooo - Wooo - Wooo" when happy or worried.

3. Chin are very quick to read your moods, and adapt their behavior. Their
emotional strength is amazing.
4. Chin use their paws in ways like a cat. They will bat at things, and lick their
paws and clean themselves.
5. Chin are couch potatoes and need very little exercise.
6. Japanese Chin don't know they are dogs.
7. Chin are normally a very quiet breed, and not at all 'yappy'. Some never
bark, and some will only bark when their are visitors.
8. Chin are very eager to please their family, but can also be quite stubborn
and aloof. While they are very intelligent, they may or may not feel like
obeying commands.
9. They are easily trainable if you find what motivates them....usually a treat.
10. Chin bond very closely to their people and are extremely loyal. Some
Chin will follow you around, becoming your shadow.
11. Chin are playful, and can be real clowns. They may run through the
house in a wild fury one minute, and be curled up for a nap the next.
12. They adore laying in sunny spots by a window, but are not tolerant of
extreme heat.
13. Japanese Chin don't know they are dogs.
14. You will definitely know when a Chin is mad at you. Thankfully, it never
lasts too long.
15. While Chin are a healthy breed, their large eyes are vulnerable to injury.
16. Many Chin are very athletic, and can jump up on many things with ease.
17. Many people find that one Chin is not enough. Once you are acquainted
with this charming breed, you may find yourself wanting another. Two Chins in
a home are a delight, and will keep you entertained.

19. Chin are cuddly, and most love to sit in your lap, and sleep with you at
night.
20. Chin love meeting new people and animals. They are always up for an
adventure!
21. A 'normal' size Chin can weigh between 4 and 12 lbs.
22. Chins do not finish getting their full coats until they are 2 years old.
23. Chin are amazing little delights, loyal companions, and loving friends.
They are an undiscovered treasure.
